This 12 day ritual starting on 21.04.2012.has its first 3 days meant for Deekshadina’s, and then 6 days of Upassaddina’s. The remaining 3 days are meant for the most important part of Athiraathram, namely, the Suthyam. Each layer of the altar is constructed daily and thus the five-layer altar will consume as many days commencing Day-4 to Day-8. The altar consecration is done on day-9. Suthyam days would commence in the morning of the10th day which will continue till the end of the Athirathram Poornahuti on 02.05.2012, uninterrupted.

Vrathadoham, Vatsapra Upasthaanam, (Adoration of the Ukha Fire), Sani Graham (Soliciting money for the Yajna), Pravargya Sambhaaram  (Preparation of Pravargya Implements), Vrathapanam .

6-30 A.M to 07-00 P.M

Vrathadoham, Vishnukramanam, Vatsapra Upasthaanam, Yoopa Sampaadanam, Devayajana adhyavasaanam, Akruthiphala Samkalpam, Mahavedeekaranam, Chithi Sthaananirnayam, Kshethra nirnayam,Vrathapaanam, Evening:  Vrathadoham & Vrathapaanam.

3-00 A.M to 08-00 P.M

 Praisham, Preparation of Gaarhapathya Chithi, Praayaneeya Ishti, Padam, Somakrayam (Purchase of Soma), Aathithyeshti, Thaanoonapthram, Somaapyayanam, Avanthara Deeksha, Morning Pravargyam, Upasad, Subrahmanya Aahwanam, Vedeekaranam,   Agnikshethropadhaanam, Foundation For the Chithi, First Layer of Chithi, Evening Pravargyam,  Upasad, Subrahmanyaahwaanam, Vrathapaanam.

6-00 A.M to 08-00 P.M

Praisham, Morning Pravargyam,  Upasad, Subrahmanyaahwaanam, Second Layer of Chithi, Evening Pravargyam,  Upasad, Subrahmanyaahwaanam.
